Prophecy Group

He is in charge and can do anything he likes. Job 38 – 41 and Job 42:1 &2
We are to be seated with him in “heavenly places” ; we must have God’s perspective.

God speaking to us has nothing to do with how good/bad we are and what we have done today. Jesus is our righteousness.

Who is a prophet?

Hearing God speak – different people hear in different ways.

- Emotions – know God’s heart/how He feels.
- Pictures
- Visions
- Dreams
- Words in head – write them down.

Although different people hear in different ways, quite often the message is similar or the same. The Spirit speaks God’s message but we can hear it in a variety of ways.

We may start by having pictures or simple words for others.
We might have vivid dreams that might give a sense of things to come.

God tests us to find out if we will be willing to obey – to share it with others. God moves us on in faith. God moves us on to where we are told to hold a word and pray into it.

We learn to hold words. At first we just hear it and want to speak it straight out.

Maybe to pray it into being or even prophecy something into being.
Eg Ezekial 37 Bones – church.

God might speak to us about a person. We might see a person’s faults and we might think that this is God’s word but he might show us this so that we can pray. THEN God gives us the word of prophecy for the person and this is what we share.

Prophecy is for building up the church and NEVER tearing it down. Although from time to time God might have to “deconstruct” in order to build.

The best test is if we can share a prophecy with love in our hearts for the person(s).
I would say – if we can’t – I would hold onto it until I DID have love in my heart and then share it.
